Spring & Lilly- Chinchillas- Adopted July 9, 2015
I'm happy to say that Spring and Lilly have found a wonderful forever home. These girls were to be thrown out into the woods in lower Mississippi, but a good samaritan intervened and drove three hours to bring them to us. The girls had been kept in a basement with very little attention for nearly three years. They were terrified when they arrived. It took a few months, but they began to trust people. With the help of many volunteers, the girls became friendly, always ready for a treat, and ready for a forever home. Their new family doesn't mind that they have a habit of over grooming and trimming their beautiful fur a bit short. They think they are sweet girls who belong as part of their family.

Smokey and Bandit
Smokey and Bandit have been through a lot. About six months before we took them in, a family was told of two ferrets on someone's porch that looked like they needed help. When the family arrived, it was in the middle of a rain storm. The only shelter Smokey and Bandit had was a dog kennel that was flooded. No food or water, other than the rain, was present. Both were starving and showing their ribs. The family managed to talk the owner into letting them take them and they started their path to recovery. As much as they loved the two, their child was very allergic. This is where we came into their lives. Smokey and Bandit were brought to the rescue in hopes of them finding a great home. In the meantime, they will be introduced to raw to help finish their nutritional recovery. They have been through a lot and are showing some signs of depression. They are to be housed with the main foster, which will allow introductions to many other ferrets during play time. We've had a lot of success with the other ferrets cheering up those that are depressed and teaching them how to act like a carefree ferret again.
Smokey is an affectionate little guy who plays, but loves to cuddle. Bandit is a playful guy who wants you to play with him.
Smokey is estimated at 5 yrs. old Bandit is estimated at 4 yrs. old
December 29, 2013 Smokey passed due to a series of seizures. Bandit has joined two of our other senior residents. Dook in Peace Smokey.
2015 Bandit passed in the care of a foster due to Insulinoma. Both boys were loved.

Mikayla and Pinky- Adopted Nov. 8, 2014 with Mr. Stiles
Mikayle (a.k.a. Minky) is a beautiful silver female. Pinky is a mitted, panda, seal point. They were brought to the rescue when their family's landlord decided the apartments would be pet free and threatened large fines. Both are sweet, fun loving girls. It is rare to find Marshall Ferms female ferrets
in these colors, let alone a bonded pair. Both are eating a very high quality diet and are in great health. They also get along with other ferrets.
Mikayla- 2yrs old, Pinky- 8 months old as of March, 2014.

Buddy & Bandit
Buddy and Bandit arrived together and will need to be adopted together. Buddy's previous owner told us that he is 7-8 years old. He is showing signs of adrenal disease. He has been seen by our vet and is being provided monthly treatment for his adrenal. He is a laid back, fun loving ferret. Neither one of the pair are nippers and Buddy is a kisser. Due to Buddy's age and health condition he and Bandit are considered permanent residents and are in need of sponsorship to help cover their medical needs. If you would like to donate to their care, please visit our donations/ sponsorships
page. (Link at top)
Bandit is a nice sized sable. He arrived sporting a healthy winter weight. Both have been updated on their shots and evaluated by our vet. They love to explore and play in our ball pit, but don't nip like young ferrets sometimes do. We were told that Bandit is 5-6 years old. He must be adopted with Buddy. Please consider sponsoring this elderly pair.
Sadly, Buddy passed July 1, 2014 due to complications from a seizure. He had a great time at the rescue and we will miss him. He was between 8 1/2 and 9 1/2 years old. Bandit followed him across the rainbow bridge later in 2014. Dook in Peace little ones. Both felt the love of a foster home.

Thor- Adopted May 2014
Thor has bounced between many homes. He was originally adopted from Craigslist, then surrendered to a rescue by the new owners, and finally made his way to us when that rescue closed. We believe him to be a wardy, which is often compared to downs syndrome. He is super sweet, which seems to be a wardy trait. He arrived with a broken canine and early periodonatal
disease. When in surgery it was determined that the tooth did not need removed and a through cleaning of all his teeth would suffice. He now has nice, white teeth and a clean bill of heath. He would really like to spend that second half of his life in a true forever home and know the love of a
familly. He gets along with other ferrets. Estimated D.O.B. April 2009.

Panda- Adopted May 2014
Panda is a soft brown sable that loves people. She loves to play and hangout with her humans, providing them with many kisses. However, she is not fond of other ferrets or dogs. We assume that she will have the same reaction to other pets. She will be a great addition to a home that wants her to be the only pet and the center of attention. If you can provide this for her, she is the ferret for you.

Willow- Adopted March 8, 2014
Willow is a sweet girl that came to us from the Tampa area. Her owner has several ferrets and was concerned that Willow was adrenal so she was going to put her down instead of taking her to the vets. We took Willow to the vet and there is no sign of adrenal. She only had rat tail, which is seasonal and not something that needs medical care beyond cleaning the blackheads from her tail. She is a sweet, active, middle aged girl looking for a forever home.

Danny- Adopted Feb. 16, 2014
Danny is part of a bonded pair. His buddy is Sandy. Not much was known about them by the person who brought them to us. The only thing that we were told is their genders. No names were known or what food they were eating. The pair has happily taken to a balanced raw diet. Their coats have been improving and they have shown themselves to be an active, fun loving pair.

Star- Adopted 2014
Star is a young girl, coming to us at the age of four month. Her owners no longer wanted her and dropped her off at a local pound. We believe she may have been traumatized as she is nipper than the typical kit. She is currently being worked with to teach her that people aren't going to hurt her. Once she stops biting, she will be up for adoption. Arrived Dec. 2013

Romeo- Adopted January 1, 2014 w/ Wheezy
Romeo is a super sweet and affectionate ferret. He came into the local county animal shelter as a stray. Although he is microchipped, the chip was never registered so they were unable to locate the owner. We encourage his new owner to register the chip. He is estimated to be a year old, born some time in late 2012. He will make a great single ferret for someone with lots of time or a great addition to a business (group) of ferrets.

Niko- adopted
Niko had been through a lot in a short time frame before reaching us. We received him from a teenager who said he got him from a friend the day before. They only had the top portion of
the cage, no bottom, and the water bottle was broken. They had no idea what he was eating. Picking him up ran into a snag when we were told "she" appeared sick and they didn't want to move her, we needed to come pick her up. They did meet up nearby and he (nope, not the she they thought) sneezed a few times. We suspect that there may have been smoke present in the home and that was causing him to sneeze a lot. By the time he reached the foster home, he had stopped
sneezing. He was given soupie to treat for mild dehydration and provide easily digested food, not knowing when he had his last meal. Each time he ate, he consumed more and gained some energy back. The following day fleas were found
and he was treated for those. Life hasn't been very kind to him in the past, but he is doing great with the foster crew. He is a sweet guy who would love a forever home that will ensure that the rest of his life is wonderful.
Arrived: August 4, 2013 Estimated Birthday: Feb. 2012
Niko joined a family that already had two ferrets. He integrated himself wonderfully and now dooks and plays daily.

Lola and Franky- adopted Oct. 12, 2013
Lola and Franky are a sweet pair of girls. Their original owner moved, leaving them behind. The gentleman who they were left with took on their care and planned to "do right by them". Unfortunately, he received orders to Hawaii where ferrets are illegal. He brought them to the
rescue. Both girls arrived in great health and had been well cared for. Lola is the escape artist of the two, being the only ferret we have seen manage to fit between the bars of a ferret playpen in order to explore the surrounding area. Franky is happy to run around through the tubes and play. Both girls are estimated to be 1 yrs. 6 mos. as of July 2013
These two girls were adopted by a local family. They have a double Ferret Nation to themselves and a room set up for them. They have won over the hearts of their new family.

Dutchess- Adopted Oct. 3, 2013
Dutchess arrived in a group of 5 ferrets that were in bad shape. She was being called 1/2 ear to distinguish her from the others because someone cut off most of her right ear. After two good meals, she weighed in at only 15.3 oz., well below what her weight should be. Due to the stage of starvation, her belly was slowly being conditioned to having food via raw soupie. As she gained weight, she was transitioned to more solid grinds and then occasionally chicken wings. Like the
others, she has taken to the food very well and is starting to gain weight and get her energy back. She is now at a safe weight, her shots have been updated and she is ready to go home with a new family.
Benita- Adopted Oct. 3, 2013
Benita (blessed) came in Nov. 12, 2012 with a group of 5 ferrets. She was being called two ears because the other two female sables each had an ear cut off. She arrived very malnurished and near starvation, weighing 15.4 oz. after two meals. Like the others, she has taken to the food very well and is back to a safe weight and has her energy back. She is a sweet girl who will allow you
to hold her for long lengths of time as she wraps her front and back legs around your arm. She also plays well with other ferrets.
Dec. 7 update: She is doing great and has received hormone shots to pull her out of heat. She is very sweet and has no problem letting you hold her as she lays her head on you. Her spay is scheduled for Jan. 10th (completed)
Benita began to go blind while with us. Due to how long they had been at the rescue and Benita's special needs, both girls were taken in by a permanent foster.

Ameila, Sierra, and Chance Adopted together September 2, 2013
All three have found their forever home. We wish them and their new family many years of dooking and war dancing!
Sierra and Amelia (bonded pair) are two young girls that found themselves dropped off at the local county shelter. They were left at the door in a carrier with a water bottle, blanket, and covered in fleas. They are now flea free and
eatting well. Both girls are estimated to be 9 months old. They have been updated on their rabies shot and given a clear bill of health by the vet. Amelia is an wanderer who likes to explore. Sierra is a war dancing and dooking girls who loves to pounce on feet. Amelia is a silver, with most of the color being in her tail. Sierra is a mitted, bibed, sable.
Chance is an owner surrender. His original owner was going to take him to a kill shelter, so he was taken in by another couple. Unfortunately the family cat didn't like the competition for attention. Chance is a very sweet boy who gives kisses. He is a true albino and is deaf. Although he won't come when you call him since he can't hear you, it hasn't slowed him down. He is a laid back boy who likes to explore, but is calm enough to enjoy some cuddle time.

eatting well.

Abbott, Costello, Lucy, and Family- Adopted together July 10, 2013
Lucy- Adopted July 10, 2013
Lucy is a young adult who lost her friend. She has come to us looking for a new home, hopefully
with another ferret for her to play with. She took some time to get use to her new home. She is a masked ferret and slightly on the smaller side of their size range. Lucy is listed as no kids because she is very timid. It is believed that she may have been mishandled in her past. She needs someone who will be patient with her. She is a single ferret, but really like to play with Abbott and
Costello.
Lucy has been with us since May,
2012.

Abbott- Adopted July 10, 2013
Abbott is bonded with Costello. They are both young and very playful and sweet. They have been fed kibble, but appear to be open to the idea of switching to raw. They were extremly overwieght when they arrived, most likely due to no exercise. They love play time and have slimmed down to a healthy weight. Both are Marshall's ferrets and have their original paperwork. Bonded pairs must be adopted together as they will experienc depression if seperated.

Apollo & His new Family
Apollo arrived Nov. 12, 2012 in a group of five ferrets. Four of them were in late stages of starvation, including him. After two good meals, this large boned boy weighed in at 1 pound, 8.5 oz., well short of the estimated 3+ pounds that he should weigh. His belly is slowly being conditioned to having
food via raw soupie. As he gains weight, he will be transitioned to more solid grinds and then occasionaly chicken wings. Like the others, he has taken to the food very well and is starting to gain weight and get his energy back. Once he is at a safe weight, his shots will be updated and he will be ready to go home with a new family.
Apollo has found his forever family with a young couple who adore him. He is loving being the center of attention.

Adalei & her new Mom
Adelei came to us showing signs of possible Adrenal Disease. She is currently undergoing treatment. We have found a vet to administer a Super-Lupron implant, which should last her a year. This is currently the best treatment for adrenal disease. She has also had a meletonin implant. Once her shots are utd and the implant is showing signs of working, she will be ready for her new home. She is a sweet ferret with a lot of energy. She is being listed as special needs because she will need a new implant approximaetly each year.
Adalei found her forever home with a family that included several other ferrets.

Black Jack
Black Jack and Knuckles are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. They were originally found in a box by a gas station dumpster and taken to a store based rescue where they were sold. Things went well for them at first, but the older ferret they were bought to provide companionship to was diagnosed with adrenal disease and became stressed by their play. They are currently with us looking for a new home. Blackjack is estimated to be 2 yrs. 6 months old based on tooth wear. Unfortunately, Blackjack lost Knuckles to health problems while at the rescue, but was quickly adopted out and given a new companion to play with.

Coco
Coco was rescued from an over crowded kill shelter that was going to euthanize her due to a lack of space. She is a very sweet girl who deserves a forever home. She looks to be pure bred, but as
we don't know her background, we are listing her as a mixed breed. She is kennel trained and very laid back. However, she does get very excited when she sees a leash. She is estimate to be two years of age.

Czarina (a.k.a. Rina)
She is a black eyed white with a little bit of black in her tail. Due to her original stray status, we are unsure of her age. However, an estimate of two and a half years old was estimated. Czarina has shown signs of Irritable Bowel Syndrom (IBS). She is recovering and starting to gain weight, but the cause has not been determined other than most likely being stress induced or a food alergy.

Cruiser
Cruiser and Vault are a strongly bonded pair. Cruiser is the male and Vault is the female. They will need to be adopted together. They both love human companionship, including belly rubs. Vault can
be picky about other ferret companions as she prefers Cruiser and her humans. They are estimated to be up to two years of age.
Cruiser and Vault were adopted out twice and returned due to deployment to California (ferrets are illegal there) and then due to a severe alergy to them. To keep from having them to go through another set of moves, they were placed in a permanent foster home/ forever home. They currently have many other ferrets to play with and an entire house to roam.

Billie (a.k.a. Little Girl)
This litter girl came in very skinny and stressed. Her tummy has settled and she is eatting a healthy amount of our grain free mix of kibbles and some whole prey soupie for extra good nutrition. She has started to put on wieght and is acting much more like an active ferret. She does need to be the only ferret in the home as she is afraid of other ferrets and the ways they play.
