Stitch-Permanent Resident-Rainbow Bridge
Stitch came to us from Panama City due to Hurricane Michael. He was part of a bonded pair that also played with Morticia and Elvira. Unfortunately, his buddy, Freya, had a tumor and other underlining problems and she passed before surgery actually began. He is a very loving ferret who also likes to run around and explore. He loves other ferrets and needs a home with a buddy. Estimated close to 3 yrs old.
Update Jan 8, 2019 Stitch was diagnosed with bladder stones. Dr. Dyson was able to clear most of them and handle the blockage in his urethra, but he still has a large one in his bladder. We are giving his body time to dissolve the stone before risking surgery. He will require a balanced raw diet for the remainder of his life to help ensure that more stones don't form.

Elvira- Permanent Resident-Rainbow Bridge
These two sweeties came from Panama City due to Hurricane Michael. They are a bonded pair who often played with Stitch and Freya. The owner estimated them to be around 5 years old. They are currently in a permanent foster situation.
Update: 1/2/2019 Morticia is now being treated for insulinoma (pancreatic cancer). We don't know if the heat and stress of the hurricane helped trigger onset, but it is the number two health issue facing ferrets and although symptoms can be treated, it is eventually lethal. However, treatment can offer many more months/years of quality of life. Sponsors needed to help cover the costs of her meds.
Update: Unfortunately, Morticia passed around Midnight Monday night Jan. 7, 2019 due to complications associated with insulinoma.

Badger and Medu- Permanent Residents-Rainbow Bridge
Badger and Medu are a sweet couple that were dumped on the front porch of a neighbor. Although in their cage, they was no roof protecting them from the summer heat when their owner dumped them and then moved. When the neighbor returned hope, she immediately started working on cooling them down to prevent brain damage from the heat. Badger is a big male sable and Medu is a white female. They are a great pair with a nice balance between active play and snuggles. Medu means "honey".
They were adopted but returned a year later when the family's daughter prepared to go to college and the family decided not to keep them as their family pet. They have been through a LOT and have not had a stable life. They need a home that will truly be a forever home where they will be part of the family unconditionally.

Adoptable dogs
If there is a specific breed, age, or temperament that you are looking for send us a message and we may be able to find your dog for you. Often dogs are euthanized due to a lack of homes. Every dog we pull for the high kill-rate shelters in the Florida Panhandle is one more life saved. We have volunteers that work hard to save lives and have transport support between us and some more remote shelters when we have a home lined up. All dogs that we adopt out are up to date on their shots, spayed/neutered (scheduled for the procedure if too young), and dewormed.
Dog Adoption Rates: Start at $175 for puppies and $100 for adult dogs
